Legal Education and Community Outreach

Family Legal Care delivers “know-your-rights” workshops and legal clinics, online and at partner organizations in local communities, where people live and work.

Through more than 25 years of service we have come to understand, prioritize, and address the unique challenges of key groups, such as veterans and active military members; Spanish-speaking immigrant families; currently and formerly incarcerated parents; and survivors of domestic violence.

At Family Legal Care, our ethos is to help anyone, no matter who they are, where they live, or their economic status. We often hear from legal and social services organizations across New York that they don’t have the expertise or resources to help clients who are dealing with a New York Family Court dispute. That’s where we come in. Our partners rely on us for legal guidance on all things Family Court. We offer “know your rights” workshops for clients as well as family law trainings geared towards social service professionals.

We serve over 25,000 families a year. Partnerships are essential to our outreach and ability to respond to evolving need. Together, we bring hope and legal care to more people across New York State.
