Family Legal Care provides parents and caregivers with the resources, support and legal strategy they need to effectively self-represent and navigate the many steps required to successfully move their cases forward in New York State Family Court.

Our Programs

We increase access to justice for families confronting issues of child support, custody and visitation, guardianship, and domestic violence through an array of programs, including our free bilingual helpline, legal consultations, and legal education workshops and clinics.

Family Law Helpline

Accessible by phone, email, and text-chat, our English/Spanish Helpline provides legal information and appointments with staff attorneys for in-depth case support.


Legal Consultations

Our staff and pro bono attorneys provide unrepresented litigants with one-on-one legal advice and case strategy.


Legal Education and Community Outreach

We deliver “know-your-rights” workshops, legal clinics, and webinars with partner organizations in local communities, where people live and work.


Legal Resource Guides in Nine Languages

Our library of over 60 guides explain important Family Law issues in simple, accessible language. They are available on our website and in the courthouses.

Our new Digital Justice Initiative addresses gaps in the Family Court’s online resources through user-friendly online tools that help unrepresented litigants understand and access the court-related forms they need, learn about court procedure, and effectively self-advocate.
